Halva truffles

As promised, today I'll share the recipe for the halva truffles that I made for the "food4good" event.

The truffles were made by me to honor the great supporter of our efforts , the company HAITOGLOU BROS . Everyone who tasted the truffles were satisfied by their taste. Of the many recipes available on the site, I decided to create these truffles because apart from being easy, their main ingredient is Macedonian Halva that I love. The truffles are quick to make and have no particular difficulty .

For the event I used the Macedonian Halva with cocoa flavor while for the shooting for this post, I used the vanilla flavor . ( yes I made them again since I had no photo from the event). Do not stay to the classic flavors . The Macedonian halva has many different flavors that you can "play" with. Choose your coating accordingly. The next thing I will try is halva with pistachio flavor and pistachio coating. Wow .. sounds promising. Well .. Get Macedonian Halva , butter and go on.

Just a tip .. serve them directly from the refrigerator. Do not let them stand outside for long because the butter will soften and consequently your truffles .

Enjoy !

Ingredients :

  • 250 gr Macedonian Halva (flavor to your liking)
  • 60 gr butter (room temperature)
  • 40 gr sprinkles for coating (or whatever you prefer)

Preparation :

  1. In a bowl "smash" halva with a fork.
  2. Add the butter and mix well so that ingredients are combined. (You can use a stand mixer with the hook attachment)
  3. Cover bowl with cling film and put in the refrigerator for an hour or so, to firm.
  4. Get bowl and shape small balls with your hands.
  5. Roll them in your coating.
  6. Keep them refrigerated till you serve them.
