Chocolate brownies with peanut butter

If you have purchased a jar of peanut butter and you made the stuffed chocolates that I posted a few days ago, then you have left with some more peanut butter. If you are not going to eat it on top of bread slices, then I have for you a very nice recipe to use it.

Brownies with peanut butter. Another delicacy that its characteristic is the combination of savory/sweet that I love. The soft brownies compliment peanut butter and the chocolate chips give an extra chocolaty tone. You will be satisfied with the result and I'm sure you will buy another jar of peanut butter to bake them once more. Just pay a bit of attention while baking brownies. Do not over bake them. It should be juicy and fluffy.

So, check them now and then and according to your oven adjust the baking time.

Enjoy !!

Ingredients :

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour (all purpose)
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (garnish)
  • 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips (garnish)

Preparation :

  1. Heat oven at 180C.
  2. Butter 12 muffin cups.
  3. In a medium sized saucepan combine sugar, butter and water.
  4. Heat till butter is melted.
  5. Stir in the 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted.
  6. Add in egg and vanilla and stir to mix.
  7. Add flour, baking soda and stir to combine.
  8. Let batter cool down.
  9. Then, stir in the 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips and the remaining 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  10. Divide batter evenly into the muffin cups.
  11. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until top forms a crust and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out a bit wet.
  12. Get brownies out of the oven and wait for centers to fall. This will happen upon cooling. If for any reason this doesn't happen, then tap the centers with the back of a teaspoon so that you form a hole.
  13. While brownies are still a bit warm, put a tablespoon of peanut butter in the hole and top with the remaining 1/3 cup of milk chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  14. Cool completely.
